GAIA / VIBRACORER
Vibracorer
Vibratory coring for soft, saturated sediments
Overview
A vibracorer extracts core samples from soft, saturated sediments using an electric or hydraulic motor that generates rapid vibrations. This minimizes friction on the core barrel wall, allowing deeper penetration than traditional gravity corers and yielding intact cores for environmental and geotechnical study.
